Dr. Wei Qian, managing partner of NTC is going to have a presentation in DUSA European Association Suzhou seminar to be held on 27th October 2011 in Kempinski Hotel Suzhou to promote different industrial zones to DUSA members.
In the past 15 years, Suzhou great area had faced dynamic change with its significantly improving of ecomomic, and investment in this area. Now Suzhou is also facing following bottlenecks for SMEs to further expanding their business:
• Limited land and facility supplying
• Government change of promotion strategy to focus mainly on Service, R&D and Headquarter
• Operators salary increase 15%-20% YoY basis; Overall living and operation cost upsurge
• Power shortage and cut off
• Old tax incentives face expiration, no tax incentives for new SMEs
Some of DUSA members are looking for new opportunities outside of Suzhou area for their new expansion projects. This seminar is prepared in order to give help to those members who are looking for new expansion area or will think about for near future.
The aim of the presentation is to introduce some typical industrial zones with lower land price, sufficient labor supply and strong tax incentives and government support, helping DUSA members have a general knowledge of other emerging industrial zones to make the preparation to their potential move/new investment to those emerging industrial zones.

Speaker Profile
Dr. Wei Qian, Managing Partner of New Tigers Consulting. Born in Suzhou and now as a Canadian citizen, he was awarded his decorate degree in international economics in 1999 at University of Limerick. Prior to his Ph.D study he obtained his master degree in business studies and won a Sir Charles Harvey Prize at the Irish Management Institute in 1991.Dr Qian is Currently managing Director of New Tigers Technologies (SIP) Ltd. for Asia and North America. During the period of 1992-1999, he was business consultant and adviser to a number of Fortune 500 and blue chip companies. Dr. Qian was economic adviser to the China State Council (the Cabinet equivalent) during 1985-1988. He co-led two nation-wide economic research programs. One was consumer purchasing, and savings behavior, the other was the reforms of state-owned enterprises. He's presently consultant to the regional government of Suzhou in Jiangsu province. Dr Qian is member of a number of organizations. Including the Ireland-China Association, European Chamber of Commerce (China Chapter), Irish Business Forum (Shanghai), Chinese Professional Association of Canada, and Association of Software Industry of China. |
