The Ireland China Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Brendan Waldron as the new Chairperson. He will replace Mr. Mel Clifford who is stepping down after his 2-year tenure.
Mr Waldron, who will take up the 2-year function from early May 2009, was the Vice-Chairperson of the Association and is currently Managing Director of New Tigers Consultancy, a China Europe business support company, and Vice Chair of the Europe China Business Association.
He has been involved in the Ireland China Association since its inception in 2000 and has been a driving force behind its growth.
During his inauguration speech Mr Waldron said: "I look forward to working with our members over the next 12 months and I am determined to ensure that, as an association, we build on the success we have achieved to date." He also went on to say, This year, we are celebrating 30 years of diplomatic relations between Ireland and China and we are currently organising a special event in October to celebrate. "
